Laragh, such sad news to hear about your dear mum Heather's passing. We were friends since the age of 12 and always kept in touch. I fondly remember her many long emails usually written at 2am! I saved them all! She will be so missed and remembered for a long time. Sincere sympathy to you, Tony and Eileen, the twins and Andy.
Our sincere sympathy Laragh and Niall on the death of your dear mother, Heather. I had the wonderful experience of meeting her many times in Clonmacnoise and what a beautiful lady. May she rest in eternal peace.
Deepest sympathy to Niall, Laragh on the sad loss of your mother also extended King and Shanley families. It was a pleasure knowing and working with Heather in Clonmacnois. May her gentle soul rest in peace. From Pat and all the Anderson families..
I'm so saddened to hear of Heather's death last month. She was instrumental in my decision to take up archaeology in the 1980's after I painted her house in Skidoo and I have such fond memories of her since. Brenda and I had the pleasure of her company throughout our holiday in Japan in 2016.
To Laragh, Niall and all of Heather's family, we extend our deeply felt sympathy for your loss.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to all your family on the death of Heather. I got to know her when she worked in Clonmacnoise. She helped me with an article for the company magazine, Sceal na Mona. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam devilish.
Sympathy to Heather's loving family and her many friends. I admired her studies of neglected medieval sculpture in Co.Meath, even before she became 'Queen of Clonmacnoise'. She was notable among the Antiquaries who came to Iona in 1990, and a valued lecturer at conferences in Scotland. At Roscrea she was the trusted 'guardian of the guest-house key' for those returning late from town, and the watchword was 'Follow Heather!' A great example of Irish scholarship and an inspiring friend to many.

My deepest condolences to Niall, Laragh, siblings and grandchildren on the sad passing of Heather. I first met Heather in 2008 when we worked on RTE's Secrets of the Stones programme together. I can say hand on heart she was one of the kindest, warm hearted and inspirational people I have ever met. Her passion and knowledge on Clonmacnoise inspired my work there, none of which would have been possible without her generous insight and guidance. Thank you Heather. Rest in peace.
I am just writing to express my sincere sympathy. I have known Heather since the 1980s when I was carrying out research on the archaeology of early medieval Ireland and was given a warm welcome when staying with her and Jerry at Skidoo. We shared a keen interest in stone crosses and I was also very interested in her work at Clonmacnoise which was seminal in recognising the archaeological significance of this major early medieval monastic site. I last met Heather by chance a few years ago at the National Trust house at Erddig near Wrexham which she was visiting whilst on holiday with a friend. I always valued her warmth and friendship.
