I am so saddened to hear of Helen’s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Helen last year while doing her hair. She was a truly amazing, courageous and positive person with such a kind heart. Her laugh was infectious. We shared lots of chats & stories together, she absolutely adored her family. I will treasure the time I got to spend with Helen. The Maguire Family.

Last year, by chance, I sat next to Helen in a Limerick cafe.
We never met before and got chatting.
Helen seemed like such a lovely and positive person.
Helen spoke lovingly about both her children and expressed how happy she was that Sam was happy in his new school.
I often thought about Helen in the months after, looking out for her in the cafe.

I still can’t believe that Helen has died. She was such a warrior in the face of adversity. She had such a great heart, such an indomitable attitude, and such a wonderful spirit. Her positivity seemed to know no bounds. There never seemed to be a challenge, which was too much for her. Who could forget her roguish smile and hearty laugh. I recall so many colleagues over the years speak of her compassionate way with patients, and her willingness and ability to take the time to listen to them and allow them the opportunity to feel heard. Her sense of fun was utterly infectious, as was her enthusiasm for getting the job done, and done well, it must be said. Her pride in her role and her team never went unnoticed. Her support and unquestionable loyalty for her colleagues was inspirational. I know that she was more than a manager to her team; she was a true friend. She will be greatly missed by all of her colleagues past and present in Bon Secours Health System.
May Helen rest in Peace, and may we all find some comfort in our many warm memories of her.
