Was shocked and saddened to learn of Helen's death and prior illness.
I first met Helen years ago in Ulster Bank College Green, on my arrival from Northern Ireland. She was a great mentor to me and to many newcomers too. She also encouraged me and others, to take up horse riding and after lessons in Malahide, we graduated to doing cross country outings in the Ashford area!
We lost touch however, when she left the Bank on early retirement.
Unfortunately was away for a few days and unable to attend her funeral.
My Heartfelt Sympathy to Margo, Robert and the extended Flynn family, at this sad and difficult time.
May Helen Rest in Peace.
I was deeply saddened to learn of Helen's death late yesterday evening. My deepest sympathies to Robert, Margo and extended family members.
I first met Helen in the early 1960's when she was working with both our fathers in the Ulster Bank in Ballyhaunis and I subsequently worked with her in College Green branch for almost 20 years. She was a wonderful colleague and really minded and mentored all the young people who joined straight from school. She left a wonderful legacy.
Thanks for the memories.
So sad to loose Helen before her time! Beautiful Mass today, I was delighted to be there! Everyone contributed to a great tribute to Helen, especially Regina Nathan. The celebrant spoke warmly about Helen. I don't think the Sion Hill PP golf society would be there only for Helen. Thanks for all you did for everyone. Joan
