What a genuinely lovely lady Nellie was. From the minute I met her first with Sadie Fitzpatrick she always was ready for the chat with a smile on her face. I hope they are having a great heavenly reunion now. May Nellie's kind, gentle soul now rest in peace.

I am sincerely saddened by Nellie's passing. She was truely part of the fabric of Thurles society, either on her own or with Eddie. Always enjoyed her company and professional dedication to her role in offical records.

It was with great sadness I heard of Nellie's death. My sincere condolences to Eddie and the OBrien family. I have great memories of my time in Thurles meeting Nellie and Eddie and having such great fun, subsequently visiting them regularly. Nellie had such a kind heart. May she rest in peace.

Worked in St Mary’s in the 80/90’s and had the absolute pleasure of Nellie’s company at tea breaks, nights out where she entertained us all with her sense of humour and fun.

I remember she helping me out to access a number of birth and death certs in order to process a title matter. Her advice and help went above and beyond her job spec. Remembering Nellie with fondness. There was a great welcome for us in Thurles when we visited as children with our mother, Breed. Such fun and laughter. As we grew up and had our own families Nellie sent us gifts and cards, always remembering us.
