HELEN'S lavish kindness and thoughtfulness, hallmarked her life, and she shared them with an unstinting generousity with everyone. HELEN was definitely THE HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST as she excelled in entertaing with style, flair and wiith an amazing attention to detail through her gracious hospitality, genuine welcome and sterling friendship - in creating a wonderful atmosphere where you felt that you are an honoured guest in her home and presence at all times. HELEN was lke the light of one star that revealed goodness and kindness in a world so often darkened by greed and cruelty. For HELEN, Christmas was not a date in the calendar. It is a state of being, where God wants to be known by us all, despite, or maybe because of our frailties, failings and faults. HELEN spent a long time in Sligo and in his poem THE MAGI, W. B. Yeats speaks of Christmas as an UNCONTROLLABLE MYSTERY. It is the feast that bids us to go deeper and enter the mystery of the slumbering Child, who is the Saviour of the world. May HELEN, in the words of 'Silent Night', be in HEAVENLY PEACE.... HELEN you were, are, and will always be: SIMPLY THE BEST.

What a wonderful lady, she was thoughtful,
genuine and full of warmth. I have know Helen since the 1970’s and pre Ballincar House days. I was always struck by her dedication and attention to detail.

I never forgot how Helen would visit
my grandmother Lily here in
Drumcliffe, always accompanied by her Mum and Aunt over the years.

Visiting Helen later in her beautiful home at
Curraghboy was always a joy.
Her thoughtful nature, engaging conversations and attention to detail will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
