Many have commented on Helena's intelligence, work ethic and helpfulness to others - as well as those, I'll also always remember her sense of humour and that smile.

My heartfelt condolences to Helena's Husband, Children, Mam and family in Limerick/ Kerry. I was deeply saddened to hear of Helena's passing.
I listened to Helena's Mass in Dublin and was delighted to hear that Helena was strong-willed on the Camoige pitch. I hope you don't mind me sharing my own story of Helena's strong-will.
It was 1989 - The Girls U15 Rounders team from Monaleen NS/ parish qualifed for the All-Ireland finals in Mosney. After a couple of tough games, we qualified for the All-Ireland final. We were thrilled. On the morning of the final, most - if not all of us, went on the Hurdy gurdies, and in particular - the wall of death. Helena came off this ride so sick, she was green. However this did not stop Helena competing as the best BackStop a rounders team could have. Helena helped us to certain victory. Thanks to Helena's stong-will & strong stomach - we all have an All-Ireland Medal! (U-15 - 1989)
This was the first story a number of the team of 1989 said to each other when we heard of sad Helena's passing.
I will think of Helena when I drive past her home house in Peamount, over the river where the swallows play.
