Nelly and your dad Liam made us more than welcome when we first went to tailors Hall when Gavin was only a nippèr,and in all the other sessions they had like the limelight, mother redcaps the Brazen Head and more.your mam will sadly missed by all that ever knew her .May she rest in peace

I remember Nellie many years ago when she had beautiful long black hair. Herself and Liam in Tailors Hall. Then years later met her and Séamus in the Cobblestone. We formed a great relationship and met there weely.

Saddest of news. Nellie was a unique spirit and leaves a long legacy of love and caring behind. Sincere Condolences to her family and friends on their loss. ❤️

As she said said to me with a glint in her eye at the reunion in Tailor's Hall, organised by Lorraine Kennedy as part of Myles O'Reilly's "Dark Horse on the Wind" documentary about Liam and Nellie, there are not many women who have had three love songs written for them. That was our Nellie, right up there with Joan Baez, Susie Rotolo and Pattie Boyd!

I have the happiest of memories of Liam and Nellie welcoming one and all to the sessions at Tailor's Hall, the Brazen Head and the Goleen Folk Club in Capel Street. All are welcome was not just a phrase but the way these two generous well matched souls led their lives. Proud also to chair the Friends of Tailor's Hall and campaign with Liam and Nellie to keep the venue open. We lost that one but we fought the good fight together.

Very grateful to Lorraine Kennedy or being such a friend to Nellie, commemorating her and Liam's lives and bringing us back together in Tailor's Hall. I'm sure the great Folk Session in the sky will be all the better now Liam and Nellie are reunited.

May her memory be a blessing.
