A wonderful 1978 summer evening in Slane Castle restaurant to celebrate our parents 25th wedding anniversary.
Lord Henry himself ,full of energy and so welcoming made it a very special ,intimate and memorable occasion. We drove a long distance from South Dublin for the occasion in mid-summer,with the long sunny evening the estate looked splendid.
He went from strength to strength after that and enjoyed well deserved success.
A full life, well lived and a huge loss for his family and Irish cultural life in general.
Sincere sympathy
Heartfelt condolences to you all on the sad passing of Henry, I have lovely memories of my evenings duck shooting at the pool in Beauparc. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Thank you Lord Henry for the great times. You knocked it out of the amphitheater. May God bless you well for all that you've done in your life. A gentleman and rest peacefully. 🙏 🙏
I watched with sadness, the programme about Lord Henry Mountcharles on RTE but it brought back super memories of the six concerts I enjoyed at Slane in the 80s.
Not alone did Lord Henry steer Slane castle and estate through happy and rough times but also guided his lovely family to follow in his footsteps and carry on his legacy. Look after yourselves in your sadness . Thank you Slane.
Lord Henry was a gracious man who looked out for his family, friends and his Irish people. He thought big and got it together as always. May Slane Castle thrive as he wanted it to do and worked hard to make sure it did. Over to you now Alex. Condolences to you all on his passing. Rest peacefully Lord Henry a job well done 🙏
Deepest sympathy to the family of Lord Henry Mount Charles.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

In the sixties my Dad was a member of Kilbride Anglers Club. He had a licence to fish the River Boyne at Stackallen near Slane Castle Co Meath. During school holidays Dad would drive us down to Stackallen on fishing trips. While Dad was fishing we would dig up all the Primroses along the banks, put them in plastic bags and plant them in our garden when we got home but within a few days they all died.

The lovely yellow Primroses may be gone
But the beautiful memories still linger on

Rest In Peace Lord Henry Mount Charles
I carried out the census in Beauparc in the early 00 i loved calling to Henry and the family all so welcoming and helpful a remarkable man rip

What a privilege he was so invested in his heritage of Slane Castle, music bands and us the Irish people. It was a measure of the man wanting to enter Politics in this Country. Pity
didnt come to fruition but he
took the opportunities to reach out and help where he could with enthuaism. Lord Henry impressed us when we heard him interviewed many times. I was at Slane, Concert in 1985 and my son who was then 5 years old. May Lord Henry rest in peace.

My condololences to all of Henrys family and many friends.Although we only crossed paths once and very brielfy your simple act of kindness on meeting did leave a very lasting and positive effect on me. I was passing through Dublin airport in Febuary 2020 were Henry and Alex were airside promoting Slane Whiskey.I got talking to Alex when Henry rambled up and we discussed the varies concert I had attended in Slane,we both agreed that Slane would have been perfect backdrop for a Leonard Cohen concert. We then discussed what life was like living in Lithunia and you asked me “did I miss home” to which I replied “home is where your happiest” and lol, Henry replied “very Leonard Cohen”.As I walked away, Henry tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a bottle of Slane Whiskey with the words “safe journey home and enjoy that”. Well Henry and Alex, I did enjoy it and your random act of kindness will stay with me forever.Safe journey Henry to your next sorjourn and station in the Cosmos and in Leonard Cohens word “Catcha further on up the road”
A great Man who loved music and atmosphere! He said he sat on the fence between Anglo Irish heritage, but he didn’t! He was a true Irishman who may have had a title but that was not him. He loved what he was doing and taking on that work with humerous and down to earth focus. Respect to Lord Henry MoutCharles and please rest peacefully 🙏 I agree with a previous message to charity work set up in his name. A lot of bands got good money out of Slane Castle over the years, maybe it's time for you to give back to support Lord Henry
Sincere sympathies to Lord Henry MountCharles family on your sad loss. He was energetic and a marvellous gentleman.
Alex set up a charity in his good name and give Metallica, U2, RedHot Chilli peppers, The Boss to name but a few and so on, a call to play Free of Charge for their services. We all pay in to attend a music festival and charities will benefit from the outing in Slane Castle in memory of Lord Henry . I know he'd love it 🙏
Sincere condolences to the Conyngham family on your sad loss of the passing of Lord Henry. He thought outside the box and brought music and culture back into our lives when times were hard. He was not just Slane Castle, but Slane and far beyond. Lord Henry lived up to his name with personality, vision and decency. He would have made a great president. May he keep rocking upstairs now and no pressure Alex to keep us rocking down here in Slane Castle. Rest peacefully Lord Henry MountCharles and keep an eye over us all. 🙏 🙏 🙏
Thank you Henry for spreading the love and humour….the next concert is always the best 🎸🎶🎷

He was some man for one man.

1st June 1985 at Slane Castle was one of the highlights of my life. I was 18 years old, the sun was shinning and the music rocked. That day will bring a smile to me for the rest of my days.

Lord Henry “ Rock In Paradise “.
Our deepest sympathies to the Conyngham family on the sad passing of Lord Henry Mount Charles. Lord Henry has left a great legacy. He brought iconic bands to play in the beautiful grounds of Slane Castle and put Slane and Ireland on the map as one of the best concert venues in the world. It's sad that L.Henry didn't get a longer lease of life. His contribution to Irish society was multifaceted, stretching beyond the creation of a world - famous concert venue. His entry in national politics and participation in social endeavours as well as earning a very positive national media profile endeared him to us all as a proud Irishman.

I have so many wonderful memories of my time working in the castle and Beauparc - one of my earliest being U2 rehearsing in one of the rooms of the castle. Henry created such incredible musical experiences for so many.

May Henry rest in peace.
We were very saddened to hear of the passing of dear Lord Henry. A great man has been taken from us, but he has left a magnificent heritage of joy for the Slane concerts in such wonderful surroundings for so many people. We were privileged to have attended many concerts from Rolling Stones 1982 to 2007, to have visited and stayed in the beautiful village of Slane so many times over the years, to have enjoyed Henry's lively company on classic motor runs and at the unique nightclub. An unforgettable memory for me will forever be the opening chords of "Start Me Up" thunderously echoing back from the rolling green woods on the other side of the river Boyne in 1982. Deepest sympathies to Iona, Alex, Tamara, and all Henry's family and friends. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the memories.
LHMC rest in peace thoughts and prayers to your family may you rest in peace thank you for the music for bringing it to me

I had the pleasure of meeting Henry in Slane castle around 1990. I remember him as someone who could connect with people and who wanted to connect with everyone. I also remember a man who's decency came across and it was my honour to have met him.

To all the Conyngham family i would like express my condolences for your loss on the passing of your beloved Henry. Please take the time to care for yourselves during this sad time, as the country mourns with you. What a generous man Henry was, to make sure Slane could be preserved and enjoyed by us all. What a legacy for this country. I was lucky enough to attend two concerts in recent years, one with my husband a massive rock fan, who sadly is no longer with us and more recently with my young daughter for her first ever concert, both days that i will always treasure. Nothing beats sharing such a beautiful piece of nature with loved ones and 80000 friends in music. Thank u for the memories
