Henry FOTTRELL

I was in total shock when I heard the deep and sad news about the loss of my best friend, my Irish brother Henry that I have known for the past 30 years. He played a big part in major family events over the past few years and my loss will never be filled up. He will always be somewhere in my mind. My deepest condolences to his children who he loved so much. Henry, I hope you’ll find peace and re-comfort now beside your dad in heaven. RIP.

A gentle man with a deep intellect, Henry came to work with a simple toolkit: kindness, compassion and common sense. I had the pleasure of working with Henry in Community Welfare Service, the Health Service Executive and the Department of Social Protection. He was a true gentleman and he spoke very highly of his family of whom he adored. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and worked with him over his many years in the service. A deep ripple of sadness went across DSP when we heard the sad news. My last conversation with Henry was a few months ago - it moved from his father to being in the RAF, his lovely children and we got the work matter sorted as well. A true gentleman.
