HENRY (HARRY) KEATING

We have just learned with sadness of Henry’s passing. We both remember him with great fondness and respect from our time in Biochemistry in the Lee Maltings, UCC in the 1980s. He was a teacher, a perfectionist, an innovator and a kind and gentle man. He was resourceful and always available to help and to share his deep knowledge with students and researchers, at all times with dignity and good humour.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his family on their sad loss.

I was very sorry to hear of Henry’s passing. May he rest in peace. I worked with Henry in the Department of Biochemistry for a few years, and he was always a true gentleman. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

It was with great sadness that we learned of Henry’s passing on Sunday, he was a quintessential gentleman - a gorgeous person. I had the privilege of being introduced to Henry and Susan through Eamon’s friendship with them and enjoyed meals in their company before family life took over and these diminished. Eamon and Henry’s relationship extended from his student days in the biochemistry department and from there onto the Lakes of Killarney and beyond. Eamon would have held Henry in great esteem and would have cherished his friendship throughout the years. Reunited with Susan May Henry Rest in Eternal Peace and enjoy the many catch ups that above has to offer! We extend our sincerest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Karen, Vincent and Andrew, their immediate and extended families and Henry’s devoted sisters.

It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Henry. My condolences to Karen, Andrew, Vincent and extended family. I first got to know Henry when I was asked as an Age Action Volunteer to give Henry a few lessons on his iPad. It was not long before our roles were reversed and Henry was updating me on the many researches he had done on AI. He was a pleasure to know- a real gentleman. May he rest in peace.
