My deepest sympathy to you Dermot, Nuala, Orla, Sorcha and family at this very sad time. Henry was such a warm, kind hearted and humorous gentleman who brightened the lives of all who were lucky enough to know him or encounter him and he will be sadly missed.

We feel privileged and fortunate to have known Henry. Fond memories are what we have to remember our friends and family, and Henry certainly created many fond memories. We are scattered across the world now from Dublin to Boston, Brisbane, and Christchurch and can only offer you our prayers, and most heartfelt condolences.

We are so sad and sorry to hear that Henry has passed on now. he was a great aul pal to my Ma May Meehan and shared very happy times working together for a very long time. I just want to offer our condolences to Nuala and all the family at this very hard and sad time of their lives.

Alas, we, the present Egan family, had lost contact with the Hicks family over the years. But we were reared with my father (Peter Egan) constantly speaking of his friend, Jimmie Hicks, and my mother telling us of her meeting with the "old" Mr. Hicks. We still have photos of Jimmie in our family collection.. But the death of Henry has brought back a flood of memories. We offer our sympathy to you all and I will offer Mass for Henry and you all. RIP.

We are very sorry to learn of Henry's death. We offer you Nuala and your children our sincerest condolences. Henry was an accomplished skilled cabinet maker who followed in the footsteps of his father Jimmy and of his grandfather the famous James Hicks. In the course of his work he was called on a number of times to Áras an Uachtaráin and to other State Departments.
We have lost a friend whom we have known him, his parents and his brothers since the nineteen forties. We were honoured that Henry was best man at our wedding in 1962.
May God grant Henry eternal rest. Go raibh leaba ag Henry imeasc na naomh.

I am sending good wishes to you all in Dublin, hoping that you are sharing fabulous memories and stories of the wonderful husband, father, friend, and man who has just passed away. What a marvelous legacy of a life well lived he is leaving in his children.

Henry Hicks was one in a million. A man as memorable as his name. I will always remember him with a huge smile. He told the best stories and had the biggest heart. He was as proud as punch of his children and his memory will live on in them and his beloved grandchildren.
