Henry .. I first met him as a young girl from Leeds on a visit to my cousinsHenry and Mary two little twins at that time living in Ballina. Henry’s dad Harry was Mam’s brother.
Many years later my partner and I took Mother then in her 80’s to Ballina and Henry hosted us in his house ‘Gurteens! .. Henry fed us and then played the piano an we sa ng many Irish ballads.. I had not seen Mam so happy for many a year.
Dear Henry I wish I had met you more often but circumstances were against that as children,as you were aware..
Rest in Peace dear cousin
Love Marie. Xxx

It was with great sadness that i heard of Henry's death.

I got to know Henry first when he started working in the Western People.
Over the years i got to know him very well, He visited us here on the farm on many occasions to take photos relevent to farm stories.
When ever we met over the years there was always time to discuss various topics.

I will treasure forever the signed copy of his great book that i got on launch night.

To his Sister Mary and other famiy members i extend my sincere sympathy.

Rest in peace, Henry,
You were a great person
Sincere condolences to the extended Wills family on the untimely and sad death of Henry R.I.P.
Over the years having watched Henry in the field so to speak, he was a magnetic, dynamic individual who commanded the room and sparks flew as he orchestrated his images into life.

His imagination and flare never ceased to impress and amaze. Especially when one seen the image in the local press afterwards.

Henry you will be sorely missed, there was and is no one of the same make and model about now, you were one of a kind.

Heaven has gained, in our Loss. The truest delight, is the fact that you produced a magnificent tome in your closing stages, which documents some, and I stress some, of your wondrous images.

We all know, there are many, many more thrilling delightful images in your vast collection of work.

In closing, I wish all your family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances the deepest of condolences.

May Henry rest in peace, but we all know those words are noted in doubt, as I am 100% confident that wherever you are - there will be laughter, music and a twinkle that shines and shares the love of Life with All.

I was so so sorry to hear of jthe death of Henry Wills from Ballina. I spent a week beside him recently in Hospital, and we got on like a house on fire. Henry was a photographer with the Western People all his life, and only recently Mary Robbison launched a book of his photographs, what a legacy. The fact that he was a photographer gave us a lot in common. He gave me a signed book, and after my discharge I invited him to visit our Railway Museum. I got to meet his twin Sister Mary and husband Michael who at one time ran a shop in Castlebar. I extend my deepest sympathy to them both and all the Wills family. May Henry’s gentle soul RIP.
