Olive,so sorry to hear of Herman's passing only today 24th. A difficulty time for you and family.We had a long innings in British Leyand, how things have changed. Pre and post Covid we meet in Dalkey for coffee and renewed old working day stories, always an enjoyable get together! Rest in peace Herman.

I met Herman a few times on his walks. He'd stop to take a break at the garden wall and I'd always tell him how wonderful he was for making it up the hill which was more than I could (at half his age!). He was full of interesting tales and in the end would say "he had to keep moving and get back to Olive" and up the road he'd go. A lovely gent.

It was a joy to see him and Olive on their many visit there...especially when they visited Leitirmoir na Coille always glad that we were around on some of those occasions for a nice catch up. Very sad to hear of Herman’s death. We often stopped to chat when he had his dog, then when he walked the neighbour’s one. He was a real treasure. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family.

Very sorry to learn of Herman's passing. I always enjoyed the little chats after Mass as Gaeilge. He was a generous and kind person to me. Ar dheis lám Dé go raibh a anam dílís.
I an very sorry not to be around for the funeral Mass. I'll be praying for his happy repose and for the consolation of all the family and extended family.
