The Dash Poem by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on the tombstone
From the beginning....to the end
He noted that first came the date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That they spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved them
Know what the little line is worth
For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars...the house...the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash
As a 1973 classmate of Hervé at Shannon , I have the fondest memories of our great times together and will miss his great since of humour and his terrific memory of dates, places and events. May Hervé rest in peace. Au Revoir Mon Ami

My time knowing Herve was when we were at Shannon, I was so looking forward to seeing him at the reunion. My memories of him are a kind and generous man, full of humor, and dedicated to his profession. May he and his family rest in peace.
We were college friends and worked in Zurich together. I have many fond memories of that time in our lives.May Hervé rest in peace.
My sincere sympathy to the Gulet family. I remember Hervé in my class in Miss Brayden’s and hearing about his antics with Brian O’Beirne when they went to the UK. May he rest in peace.
