Helena well supported Hilary at the BTSG meetings, and Hilary was always positive and engaging with many plans ahead. RIP Hilary. You will be missed by many people for sure.

Dear Helena, Michael and all the MacHale family. My sincere condolences on Hilary's untimely passing. I knew Hilary through a mutual friend, Emer, and what I remember most is her love of life, music, travel and people and a faith that was important to her. I have fond memories of New Year's Eve parties in the house filled with laughter and banter, and memorable weekends away in Kilkenny and the famous Langton's. Hilary will be greatly missed. I just learned of the very sad passing of Hilary. My thoughts are with you and your families at this most difficult time. Hilary was a fabulous person with a kind and generous heart always smiling and engaging. She will be sadly missed. May she rest in peace.

I was in primary school with Hilary from third class in Johnstown NS. I remember Hilary’s kindness and warmth to me as I knew nobody. She was a very lovely little girl who made my transition to a new school and a new county easier. That memory has always stayed with me.
I was very saddened to hear of her recent passing. It must be very difficult for you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you her family . RIP Hilary.

I had the pleasure of working with Hilary at Elavon back in 2023. I had worked with her before, but not closely until that year. What a truly great person she was. So witty and funny, but also kind and warm. I will never forget her. She will always be remembered fondly and missed enormously by her team.

I remember her as hard working, dependable, clever, wise and so kind, definitely a little mischievous, with a wonderful sense of humour. I recall many great chats and laughs whenever she was around. Hilary was a true friend, colleague, and mentor to all of us in the team. We are so proud of the brave fight Hilary fought over the last 2 years. We will truly miss the build up to Christmas as we heard about the Christmas Village being built and the run up to Summer as the plans for the next excursion to unusual parts of the world were being planned but more importantly we will miss the counsel that Hilary gave, and the support she showed us in whatever we were doing. Hilary will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

To the MacHale family, my deepest condolences.

I worked with Hilary in Elavon. In a professional capacity she was a well respected colleague. Diligent and fair, she was always at hand to help. She went above and beyond by partaking in company-wide social and networking activities that brought such joy to people. Hilary's involvement was very important in helping me settle as a new starter.

On a personal level my favourite times with her was a Thursday morning tea break. I would happily listen to her for hours about her childhood, her adolescence, her views on current affairs, and her many travels. From teaching to aviation to financial services, from one continent to the other, Hilary's life was filled with memories. She was such a joy to be around. Every interaction with her was a pleasure; you were either going to laugh or learn something new, but invariably you came away with both.

Her love for adventure, for people & culture, and the reverence she held her nieces and nephews in will always stay with me. A truly remarkable person who is dearly missed. May she rest in peace.

I met Hilary in Bank of Ireland and we have been friends for over 30 years . What can I say funny , entertaining, kind , intelligent , the trivia and facts she knew …and such a lady . I did the Camino for many years with her and I loved every minute - she was such good company and loved planning in detail with her excel spreadsheets.

You will be missed Hilary but the wonderful memories I have, you will never be forgotten .

I remember Hilary fondly from my youth when she kept an eye on Helena and myself as young Brigin Guides , or out on the road playing kick the can . I had the absolute privilege of working with Hilary on the ERM team in Elavon. As a colleague, she was extremely competent; the type of person that every team needs but few are lucky to have.
As a person, she was wonderful; kind, caring, adored her nieces and nephews, was loads of fun and kept us all entertained with her fascinating travel stories. Every year, we looked forward to hearing what the new addition to the Christmas scene would be and how she was planned to navigate the massive festive dinner.
It was a pleasure to have known Hilary; she will be very sadly missed.
