Dear Maria and Rob,
heartfelt condolences and love to you. The loss you have incurred is immeasurable. I know that I am not alone in feeling honored and privileged to have known Hormoz and to have been included in the wide net of love and friendship that you, Maria, and he, cast all over the world.

In Hormoz's company I felt that I was in the presence of great refinement and grace and also warmth and genuine friendship. It was truly a blessing to have known him. I treasure and hold close to my heart the time we spent together and know that his place will never be filled and that he lit up the world through the luminescence of his own being, his exquisite refinement and warmth.

Thank you for allowing me to share in your great love, which was so evident anytime I heard you speak to each other. May the ripples of that love and grace continue to spread.

I recall looking after him in the 1980s in the old upper Lunch Romm of Trinity College Catering department.
He was one of life's true Gentleman and always had a smile and time for everyone he met .
A person whom will be greatly missed by all whom was lucky enough to have known and met him .

A lovely man with whom I had many an enjoyable conversation over lunch in Trinity. He is a great loss.

My heart-felt condolences go to the family and friends of Hormoz Farhat. I had the privilege of meeting Professor Farhat on several occasions at lunch time in TCD and discussing several on-going issues of importance. He was a very fine, cultured and an extremely pleasant gentleman to talk to and had enormous knowledge of the functioning of the Countries in the Middle East, Iran and those in the Indian sub-continent. I learnt a lot from him. He would be greatly missed.

I was very sorry to hear of Hormoz Farhat's death. As a physicist in Trinity College Dublin I was privileged to know him for many years, often meeting him at lunch and at Commons. I was particularly honoured that he invited me to present some demonstration experiments in musical acoustics to successive senior undergraduate classes of his.
