Sincere sympathy to Hugh's family and friends on his sudden passing. Such a gentleman, I remember him fondly from our Foras Forbartha days and later EPA. May Hugh Rest In Peace.

So saddened by the untimely death of Hugh, my neighbour and friend of 43 years. When I moved in next door to Hugh and Margaret in 1980 I found them to be welcoming, friendly and helpful. Margaret’s sad passing only three years ago left a gap in all our lives and it was evident that Hugh missed her greatly. Hugh’s unexpected departure greatly adds to that void in the neighbourhood. I will miss his kind, unobtrusive presence and the friendly chats over the wall. Rest In Peace, Hugh.

So sorry to hear of the sudden death of Hugh. I have enjoyed meeting him while out walking in Marley Park, he was a great man for a chat. I have happy memories of playing table tennis with him in AFF. A true gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Dear Patrick and the Horan family. I was shocked to hear of Hugh's sudden loss. I was delighted to meet him and former AFF work colleagues for lunch when I was back in Ireland in early September. Always a friend and colleague and will be missed.

I am so sorry of hearing the sad news I am going to miss you and Ben going by the chemist every morning waving in filling me in on all the gossip and dropping cakes every Wednesday I was looking forward to hearing all about your holiday instead I was told the awful news .
