I had business with Hugh in or about 2002 or so and I found him to be an extremely affable and decent human being. His work was absolutely first class, excelling in its artistry. I am very sad to learn of his passing. May he Rest In Peace.

Deepest sympathy to the Looney family on the passing of Hugh. I have many fond memories of playing with Hugh in Ballinlough Tennis Club. We used to have great fun on court. He had a great sense of humour and quick wit. I regret that I missed Hughs funeral as I was unaware of his passing until a few days after his funeral. May he rest in peace.

He was always a welcoming face with a great sense of humour. I was saddened to hear he passed away. His Christian faith was so strong and I know he is in the presence of our Heavenly Father right now.

It is hard to believe that Hugh is gone, but he is in the place of hope fulfilled. Sorrow is real but it will pass away as well.

Condolences to Mary and family. I always enjoyed playing tennis with or against him. His wit will be remembered. May he rest in peace.

I was lucky enough to work alongside Hugh when he was captain of Ballinlough Tennis Club.
He was an example to all by his no nonsense attitude to the task in hand.
He used his own special brand of humour To deflect from the fact that he was a man of great Empathy and that he felt that the reason he was with us the reason he was with us was to help others.
It was an honour for me to work with him for the 2 years and then stay friends for all these years .
It goes without saying that he will be missed And Audrey and I sent our condolences to Mary and family.
Our lives were all the richer for knowing Hugh and Mary.
