To Martin and Patricia. It is with great sadness that I learn of your Dad,s passing. I knew Hugh as Captain McCole when I sailed with my late husband who was Chief Mate at the time, many years ago now. My son Edward called to visit Hugh last year and they had great chats. So I have many memories of Hugh. Please accept my sincere sympathy and that of my son . Rest in peace Hugh. . Hilary

I was very glad to get the chance to meet Captain McCole last year. He was a real gentleman and told me fantastic stories about my father and him together at sea. They were the last of a kind. I'm sorry I cannot be at the funeral but I will raise a toast to him today. (from Belgrade, Serbia)
