It was very sad to hear of Hugh's sudden passing. He and his late parents Joan and Tom were good friends of my mother and father. Hugh called regularly to our house in Clontarf and would sit for a few hours discussing the politics of the day from as far back as I can remember until I was old enough to have my own home. May he rest in peace.

I am shocked and saddened by Hugh’s death and my sincere condolences to Seamus, Helen and family . Hugh was my lovely neighbour for over 60 years and my friend. He was so good to me and always looking out for me, especially when I was very sick. He was like one of the family and at the odd hooley of course !! He had a great sense of humour and loved the craic. Hugh was so kind and had a big heart. I will miss you Hugh , rest in peace .

It was with shock and sadness we’ve heard of dear Hugh’s sudden passing. He was a fabulous character with great fortitude and great wit (especially regarding sport!!).
My sister Maureen will miss you.
