Iain was Nigel's oldest friend. He offered me that same friendship and support from our first meeting, now over 50years ago, in Ireland. Since then I have wonderful memories of times together with him and Cecily in Ireland, Uk and more recently in Vielmur. I will miss him greatly.
Jonnie, Andy, CJ and Vicki all my thoughts are with you.
Very fondly remembered and a lovely tribute to both Cecily and Iain by his children. We go back a long way ... trips to and from Portora Royal, parties in Corrybeg, sausage sizzles in Dublin mountains and many holiday trips spent together in our youth ... much of this before their marriage. Great memories!
Iain was one of our oldest friends, and we are deeply saddened by his passing. For over sixty years, he was warm, generous and loyal. We have many happy memories of gatherings in Rathmines and Vielmur. To Jonnie, Andy , CJ ,and Vicki, you have our deepest condolences in the loss of a wonderful father.
Deepest sympathy to Jonnie & all the Pratt family on the death of your beloved father. RIP.

Condolencies to the family and friends of Iain, and my apologies for not being able to be with you on Wednesday. Below is part of my homily preached across this Chaplaincy last Sunday.
"Earlier this week, we lost a valued and loved member of our church family, with the passing of Iain Pratt from our Brens congregation. To those of us who knew Iain this is a heavy burden to shoulder, but as a community, or family of faith we can and should take reassurance that Iain’s spirit has now been transformed in the love of Christ and that his pains and afflictions are no more.
In honouring and remembering our brother in Christ, yes the words are
important, but so to will be our actions, in continuing to stand for those
things that Iain stood for and not letting them fall for lack of ownership. For in a very important way that is a most admirable way of honouring Iain’s memory and roll within our church family".
Now it is the time for others "to pick up the ball and run"!

We were so sad to hear of your dads death as were immensely fond of him.
As a little girl I remember when your mum and he were dating. Mum did herself an injury dancing the twist! When they were engaged they paid us a visit in Bishops Stortford and we had such a lovely time.
I was at their wedding.
I remember very happy visits to Corrybeg and Rathmines. Your dad and mum were always so generous and hospitable.
Dad could always be depended upon to make a great speech at a social event and made a cracking one at our wedding! ( I will dig out the photo!)
Your dad will be remembered for his zest for life, his generosity, kindness, sense of humour and so much more. He will be greatly missed.
