Chatting on the road, you always learned something from Ian and came away with a smile and a laugh. May he Rest in Peace.

Very sorry to hear the sad news of Ian's untimely death. Have fond memories of Ian who was always full of fun & wit. He was a great help to us & was always there when help was needed His death reminds me of a poem I recall from my past.
" He's only gone on "
At last his gallant soul "Took Flight"
Into the land where there is no Night,
But his name is carved in our Hearts to Stay,
As we think of the things he used to say,
So he is not dead, he's only "Gone On"
Into a Brighter, more wonderful dawn.
For men like Ian were not born to die,

And in happy Remembrance, he lives again.
So while he sleeps & his voice is still,
His Spirit goes on, & always will.
So sleep peacefully Ian & enjoy meeting your late father Des where U can discuss politics and the poor state of world affairs. You can both enjoy the Choir of Angels.

Eithne & family, so shocked and saddened to hear about Ian’s untimely passing.I have very fond memories of times in primary school (OLG) when boys were younger and in recent times meeting Ian when out for a walk. He loved talking about the kids. He was always good for a chat and a laugh. Can’t believe we won’t see him again. May he rest in Peace. Attended funeral online. Well done to you all. I cannot begin to express our shock at the passing of Ian
He was so kind & patient to myself & Maeve when we were young

I have the fondest memories of time that Ian had to entertain his girlfriends (now wife's) two little sisters, taking us Ice skating in Dolphins barn for the first time or when he had to 'hang out' with us on a wet Saturday in Galway in the Quays till Eithne brought the car around. He was always so good to us.... we'll never forget it.

Eithne, we were very sad to hear about Ian. We have many good memories of days which we shared together in college, which don't seem so long ago. He always followed his own path in being individualistic and true to himself. His life was too short but happy memories will endure.
