Laura and family so sorry to learn about your Dad's passing. Xx
My brother Niall just messaged me to say Ian had passed away. He was an ideal neighbour, friendly and entertaining but never interfering. My mother Nancy particularly enjoyed Ian's humour and banter.
It's the end of an era for Wyckham park with a lot of the old neighbours gone but luckily the Corrs are still there! Condolences to all the Corr family from your former next door neighbour.

Alan and family, we are all saddened to hear of the passing of your father. May he rest in peace.
I am very sorry to hear about Ian and wish to sympathise with his family and close friends. I never worked directly with him but shared a table, from time to time, over the years, in the Radio Centre coffee bar. This always guaranteed an interesting short break, full of good humour and coupled on occasion with a challenge or two. Suimhneas síoraí dó

Sincere condolences to Ian's wife Bernie and family.
I first met Ian when I turned to the NUJ for support at a difficult time in RTÉ. His integrity, fearlessness and commitment were outstanding and remained an influence throughout my later Union involvement. He was kind, witty and a true gentleman.
Thanks Ian.

Hearthfelt condolences to Bernie and the extended Corr family on the sad passing of Ian. I first met Ian in the late 1960s when he served as the leader and head negotiator of the RTE Number Seven Branch. From the outset, he impressed me as a man of great integrity, formidable, eloquent, and deeply committed to representing staff. In more recent time, I was fortunate to meet Ian during one of his walks by the river, near his home. Though the years had passed, his sharp wit and inner resilience remained undiminished. To Alan and and family, so sorry for your loss and sending sincere condolences.
Dearest Ian, ever since the 1960s in the GPO studios until just a week ago when you phoned advising where content could be found in your documentaries on Micheal O'Hehir's career, I was always delighted to hear your voice: knowledgeable, challenging, fair-minded ..... and gossipy. I shall miss your conversations as so many of your colleagues will: and, of course, as will your wonderful family to whom I send love and sympathy. John Bowman
On behalf of the President, Captain and all the members of the Dublin Journalists Golf Society, I extend our deepest sympathy to the Corr family on your loss. Ian was a true gentleman and will also be fondly remembered

Sincere condolances to Bernie and all the Corr family. We first met during our secondary school days. We kept in touch from then until 1961, when we both joined RE and met in the GPO Henry Street. We were close friends, and as RE became RTE our friendship became even stronger. He was a great friend to have during the years that followed. Lots of good advice and most of all good humour. I retired from RTE in 1997, and left Ireland for the USA. We never lost contact until now!
Our condolences to Bernie, Laura, Aaron, Alan, Rachel, Sarah & the extended family.

It was with a heavy heart that I learned of Ian's passing. My condolences to Bernie and all the family.
I first met Ian in 1967 in the GPO Radio Studios for the Sunday Sport programme. He loved Radio and thought it was the purest form of communication and he was brilliant at his job.
He lost his sight just after he retired but that did not dim his thirst for Life, Knowledge and Conversation - he excelled in all three and much more.
May he rest in peace.
I'll miss ya "head"

So sad at the passing of a kind, erudite man who was invariably a joy to be around. We shared some wonderful times together.
So sorry Bernie and family to hear of Ian’s death, please accept my condolences. It’s a long time ago but I always loved having a conversation with Ian, it could be about anything … books, music …. something you never thought to think about … always very satisfying … you’d find yourself thinking of the conversation the following week.
Great memories of working in Radio Sport of a Saturday and Sunday afternoon in the 80’s with Ian at the helm. Always the professional -intelligent, witty and a straight talker. Condolences to Ian’s family at this time. May he rest in peace.
I was very sorry to hear about Ians passing. My late husband Fin always spoke very fondly about their youthful adventures. May he rest in peace.
So sorry to hear of Ian P's passing, on reading the notes of condolence from his many friends and colleagues I think that all bases have been covered. I am sure you will all find some comfort in the knowledge that Ian was much loved and admired by so many.
My thoughts and sympathies to the Corr family. Ian knew radio and served the listeners well over so many years. I was lucky enough to work with him and learned so much from him. I'll remember him and his Irish Times crossword and of course his laser sharp wit. He always wanted the best from you and for the listener. Rest in Peace Head.
My condolences to Ian's wife and family. I hope that you will find some comfort from the respect and affection in which he was held. I was in studio many a time with Ian, it was fast, furious and fun, laced with good advice and razor sharp wit.

Ian never learned to drive a car, which was his loss but my gain. He became a neighbour as well as a friend when we got married, and on the occasions that a drove home with him his sound advice was always appreciated. We would like to offer our sincere condolence to Bernie and family on this sad occasion. - Laura,Brian and the Gillen family.

Condolences to Ian's family, friends and former RTÉ colleagues on his death. He was a loyal trade union member and was noted for his sterling leadership of the NUJ. His funeral will coincide with the union's Delegate Meeting and we will take the opportunity to salute Ian's contribution. He was a Member of Honour and is remembered as a friend and mentor to a generation. Séamus Dooley, AGS/Irish Secretary
Dear Bernie, I am so sad to hear of Ian's passing and send my deepest condolences to you and all the family. My friendship with Ian goes back to the Sunday afternoon sports programme in RTE when we did the draw for the Irish Hockey Senior Cup. In recent years I so enjoyed walks and chats with him in Marley Park - Ian was such good company and had so many interesting stories to tell from all the sporting events he had covered for RTE . We will all miss him greatly. May Ian rest in peace.
Ian gave me great encouragement when I joined RTÉ Sport, and I’ll always remember with great fondness our Sunday afternoons in studio 10. Him in the producers chair and me in the presenters seat. Good times. May he RIP
Who would have thought the Head of Radio Sport would be bothered with a DJ on Radio2. Well we did go to the same school, albeit years apart, and with that connection, I learned so much about life, radio broadcasting, crosswords and golf from Ian P. Corr. You’ll be greatly missed not just by your family but by all of us who encountered you in life-and for someone who had lost his sight some years ago, you never lost your foresight or wisdom which happily you shared with so many. So long “Wire”. We’ll meet again.
To Aaron and all the family so sorry to hear of your da,s passing may he rest in peace 🙏

sincere condolences to bernie and famiy on the demise of ian. He and I joined Radio Eireann/G.P.O, I in 1956. We worked together in our early days in the G.P.O, before TV two technicians who were often together on Continuity duty.Ian looked after live programmes and I pre recorded programmes, with a station announcer providing the " that was and here now is" announcements. You bought Wickham and we bought Navan rd. You two came to our house warmer, surely you remember the stained floorboards and the beanbags, and the four of us went to Mike and Eileen Murphys, who bought near you. Look after yourself Bernie and rest in peace Ian.
