Ian COULTER

My deepest sympathy to Daphne, Rian, Ailbhe and extended family on the loss of Ian. I had the privilege of being a work colleague and friend of Ian for 31 years, in the NRB and CIB. As I lived in Kilkenny at the time, Ian was the first NRB staff member to welcome me to the organisation in 1984. Over the subsequent years I experienced comradeship, friendship and kindness from Ian, not least in receiving phone calls on my birthday. In work we shared times of huge change and challenge, laughter and some sorrow. I was lucky enough to meet Ian at the recent NRB reunion, when he was his usual cheerful and enthusiastic self. A kind, gentle, caring person, Ian was a Prince among men. The world is a much poorer place because of his leaving it.

Deepest sympathy to Daphne, Rian and Ailbhe, and Ian’s wider family and friends. I’m very sorry for your loss on Ian’s untimely passing. I have worked with Ian on the SOS Kilkenny Board for a number of years, his positive approach, caring nature, and authenticity will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

I was so sorry to hear of the untimely passing of Ian. I worked with Ian when he was in charge of a national training programme with the Citzens Information Board and I worked in former Co. Wicklow Citizens Information Service. Ian was such a pleasure to work with - always respectful, kind and considerate. Ian was a gentleman and friend to so many.
