Ian Doherty

Ian was my cousin and though i didnt see him that frequently i do recall him as a lovely lively jovial warmhearted relaxed caring fellow.

Deepest sympathies to all those for whom Ian’s unexpected and untimely departure leaves behind a deep chasm of grief for his absence in their lives.

Particularly to his sisters and parents and his partner too. May their hearts heal gently.

Ian’s legacy is as a gem still shining brightly. in hearts and minds he is loved and held forever.

I was so, so sorry to hear about the loss of Ian.
My sincere condolences to Phelim, Susan, Ciara and Sarah and extended family.....such an unexpected loss and so close to Christmas time also makes it all the harder.....sending you strength to get through these tough times

I knew Ian as a child but not since...we were similar in age.....my Dad Richard was good buddies with Phelim....being both moustached and from the "North"

Very sad to know about the passing of Ian Doherty. Ian was a cheerful and kind hearted person and his sudden passing is very difficult to accept. My condolences to his family and friends.

I was shocked to learn of Ian’s untimely passing last week, having enjoyed his company the evening before alongside all our colleagues. My abiding memory of that evening is Ian’s huge infectious laugh and the stories he told us about the fun he had with his family.

Ian will be remembered in the National Lottery for his calm, his desire to help, and his huge laugh which filled up the building.

For my part I will miss our morning time conversations, where Ian would often talk about the wonderful relationships he had with his family (and especially his grandmother, whose Scrabble games were legendary). He was very clearly grounded in his love for family, and was a source of calming assistance to all in the National Lottery.

We will miss him very much.

My sincerest condolences to both families. I am so shocked to hear of his passing. I lived with Ian in UL. These last few days i have been remembering all craic we had, there are so many stories. Every single person will have known him as a gentlemen. In conversation he would always engage with genuine curiosity followed by expectation of a punchline with his unique laugh.
