I didn’t know Ian that well he was a few years older than me growing up. My biggest memory was how all the girls fancied him and talked about ‘Ian Woods’ and his beautiful mop of blonde hair. This dedication to his life was truly lovely and well done to those that wrote it and spoke of Ian. It’s a wonderful way to look back and remember this Bear of a man. Saddened by his passing another blow for our little town may he rest gently with his family now and condolences to those left behind x 🖤🤍

I hadn't seen Ian in all the years since he left on his travels. That was up until last year, when I met him completely by chance the day before he returned to the US after his Mother's passing. We were both delighted to see one another and he was as friendly as ever.

Although I didn't know he was referred to as Bear, I'm not surprised. When we were growing up, he was so much bigger than us. He proudly won a Minor Football Championship medal as a full forward for Clara in 1992. A great memory.

Our deepest condolences to all of Ian's family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

We have great memories of Bridgie Ann and Shane and Ian when they lost their Dad Gordon life was very sad for them but many good friends rallied around the family in our case Bridgie Ann would bring the two boys to our home ever day they had great fun with our boys eventually all going to School together and getting their communion together looking back at photes of happy times Loosing Shane was heart breaking for Bridgie Ann and Ian and family But now their all united once more at peace condolences to Ians Wife and Family and her Sister Marie John and family and Sharon and Family and her brother god Rest you IAN always Remembered

I have many happy and sad memories of growing up in Beechmount Avenue. Great friendships were made there too as attested to in Ian's memories so beautifully documented. So many lovely people from childhood are gone and now Ian joins them, sadly much too soon. May he rest in peace with his mam and Shane.
