Deepest sympathies to Cathal, Caoimhe and Fionnuala on the death of your beloved wife and much loved Mother Ide. I have wonderful memories of the times we spent together in Falcarragh and later in Carysfort. Íde will be sorely missed by all those who had the privilege to know her. You are all in my thought and prayers at the sad and difficult time.

My deepest sympathies to Cathal, Fionnula agus Caoimhe. I have fond memories of Bean Uí Áinle and do this day we still mention her name. She taught us with enthusiasm and commitment. I was very sad to hear of your loss.

So sorry to hear of Ide s passing . I will never forget bumping into her in lanzarote and she showes me some dance moves by the pier. Beautiful lady ❤️

Cathal, Fionnuala and Caoimhe, I was filled with sadness when I heard your beloved Ide had died, I was thinking so much about her that day as I know her birthday is the 8th April. She was such a special person in my life, and though our meeting seemed like a huge coincidence we both realised instantly that we were meant to be in each others lives. Sadly, we didnt have as much face to face contact when we moved to Louisburgh. I will remember her always. I'll say in english what so many have said in Irish 'There will never be the likes of her again'.

Our sincerest sympathy to Cathal, Fionnuala and Caoimhe on the loss of your beautiful Ide. We actually met though sheer coincidence, a misdialled number on my part, but had numerous telephone calls that always gave me such a lift. I eventually met her in Portmarnock where my sister also lived. Now we know there's no such thing as coincidence. It was a privelege to know her.

I was lucky to have been taught the tin whistle as a child in St. Helens by Ide. Not only that but I grew up a few doors down from her and she would give the children on the road sweets from a big red gummy bear jar. I have lovely memories of Ide and I visited her in 2019 and she was as kind, caring and gentle as ever. I hope she is at peace now x

Bean Uí Áinle gave me my love of music. As a pupil of Scoil Neasáin I always looked forward to going down to the music room and singing with her.
She was a gifted and caring lady and the school was so lucky to have her.

To the Family of Íde O Háinle.

Ms. McMorrow was my primary school teacher in Junior and Senior Infants back in 1973/74 and 1974/75 in Assumption Primary School, Walkinstown. She was the most wonderful teacher, kind, caring, with of course a huge grá for the Irish language and music. By Senior Infants, the class was singing as a choir at Sunday mass, that is thirty to forty 5 year old girls gathered in our church in Walkinstown singing our hearts out - some achievement on her part. Unbelievably for those times, she taught us yoga and I remember her doing a headstand for us one day in PE. She sadly left the school before the end of Senior Infants and I often wondered about her over the years. Now I know from reading the messages here, that she went on to have the same positive effect on so many others. She was loved back then by her pupils and their parents and that obviously followed through for the rest of her career. I am so sorry that she suffered with Parkinsons Disease but happy that she seemed to have a fulfilled life in many other ways. I have never forgotten Ms. McMorrow and never will. My condolences to her family and may Íde rest in peace 🙏

(Forgot to mention her glamour - I can still see her in her polo neck jumper, flared trousers, platform shoes, long dark hair and large framed glasses - a beautiful 70's fashionista)

Sincerest condolences Cathal, Fionnuala & Caoimhe. Íde will be very sadly missed. She was a gifted music teacher; a totally selfless person and a dear, dear friend. She lived life to the fullest despite her pain but touched the lives of SO many others along the way with her prayers and good deeds.

We were very sorry to hear of Íde’s passing. Though I wasn’t in Scoil Neasáin myself, my brothers were lucky to have her as their music teacher, and they speak so warmly of her. She worked closely with our late mam, who thought the world of her. Íde’s carol services were magical, a real gift to the school and the wider community. She shared her love of music so generously, and it lives on in so many she taught.
