I will always remember Ignatius as a true gentleman. In his retirement speech he told us he planted a tree on the grounds for us to remember him by. I pass the tree every day on my way into the college and I remember and think of him. Rest in peace Ignatius.
I was very sorry to hear that Ignatius had passed away recently! He was a gentleman, a great colleague of mine in Coláiste Dhúlaigh for many years! May he rest in peace; my sincere sympathy to his family and friends

Very sad to hear Ignatius has passed away.
Worked with him as a teaching colleague at Coláiste Dhúlaigh for many decades. Just a lovely gentle person who contributed so much to his students not least fair play and respect. God rest you Ignatius.

Sincerest condolences to the family of that wonderful gentleman,Ignatius. I worked with him involving the young folk in sport in what was then the city of Dublin VEC from the early 1980s. We had many laughs and chats. A thorough gentleman.
In 2003, at my mother's funeral in St. Canice's he asked how I knew Bláithín. What a delightful surprise to discover they were longtime colleagues (and sometimes strong competitors) in their beloved horticultural and flower arranging group.
What an honour to have known and worked with him.

I use to come to Ignatius’ home to help his wife Violet when I worked as a carer, what a beautiful soul you were. It felt like coming to nana and grandads house everytime I went there. May you rest peacefully in heaven, thinking of the lovely Violet at this awful time x

Condolences to Violet, thanks for many shared memories with both you and Ignatius. A gentleman and valued colleague both in the Volleyball Association of Ireland and in the Sports and Cultural Council of the City of Dublin VEC. Ignatius contributed with true dedication to the sporting lives many students in Finglas and Coolock. RIP.
So sorry to hear of Ignatius' passing. He was a colleague for very many years in Colaiste Dhulaigh. One of nature's gentlest souls. Most sincere sympathy to Violet and family.
