Sincere condolences on behalf of the O'Leary Family Dunmanway (the bakery, East Green) to all the Buckley's and extended families. Our late mum Esther was a great friend of your dear mother Imelda and she always spoke kindly of her and apparently the relationship went back to her father John D. Crowley when they used visit them in Brade, Leap in the old days and the connection continued when they owned the Laurel Bar in Dunmanway.

So sorry to hear of Imelda's death. Mass will be said for the repose of her soul in Saint Catherines Centre, Maynooth. She was a lovely lady. So much family history will be lost with her passing.

Even though your mother lived to a great age it still aches to say goodbye.

Dear Ann, I was so sorry to hear of your mother's death. I got to know Imelda through my mother Odile, who spent four years in Mount Desert. I owe a debt of gratitude to Imelda as my mother did not want to come down to Cork, (we are from Dublin) however when they became such good friends, all complaints about Cork stopped! The two of them would spend hours and hours together passing the most scurrilous comments about the other residents, all in french of course! Poor Imelda, she was bereft when Odile died in 2013. I have very fond memories of Imelda, she was a wonderful lady.

I have such fond memories of her, not least of which was her wonderful chocolate mousse. She always gave me dessert when I called in after lunch so Máire and I could go back to school together.
