It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our dear friend and Lourdes collegue Imelda. I met Imelda many years ago, when I embarked on my first pilgrimage to Lourdes.To say that I met a wonderful kind hearted person would be an understatement.Our friendship spanned many years in traveling to Lourdes.I withnessed first hand Imeldas kindness,attention to detail in dealing with pilgrims of all ages, was a testament to her nursing profession. Imelda gave of her time unconditionally,her warmth and personality was always reassuring to pilgrims.It would be true to say that Lourdes linked us with this lovely lady and her dedication and kindness will never be forgotten. Someone once said " A nurses legacy is found in the lives they touch,and the comfort they provide" Imelda was indeed such a person.On behalf of the Kildare Carmelite Lourdes Group we offer our heartfelt condolences to Imeldas family extended family and large circle of friends. To all of Imeldas family- I was so sorry to learn of her passing today. What a huge loss to her family, neighbours, friends, ex colleagues in Nursing and the Lourdes medical/ nursing team which is where I met her in 2008. She was a brilliant Nurse and we had such fun and laughs with her, both on and off duty. So practical and experienced- nothing fazed her and she was always there to give backup if it was needed. She touched so many peoples lives throughout her life in such a positive kind way.
