Imelda McGrath-Dyas

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Imelda's passing. She was the loveliest of people, always smiling; always time for a chat. She had a huge heart and a gentle soul. It has been many, many years since we last spoke, but I remember her like yesterday and still feel her warmth. My sincerest condolences to Grace, Veronica and Sean.

I hadn't run into Imelda for a few years, but I saw a lot of her when I lived in Dublin in the 90s and I was fond of her. She was a kind and friendly person with a warm smile, and I'm really sorry to hear this news.

My dear aunty Imelda, I am heartbroken still. But I am in awe and in celebration at the life you lived, seeing all who gathered to say goodbye. You will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life, and I will do my best to take with me your morals and energy on my travels. People may think you have disappeared when you are no longer in the picture, but you, Imelda, will never leave the frame. I love you and I will miss you so much.

Deepest condolences to our dearest cousins Veronica, Sean, Grace, our uncle Sean, Imelda's siblings Patrick, Patricia, Bernie, Tadhg, her in-laws, grandchildren Cillian, Liam, Erin, her nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and colleagues. So many wonderful childhood memories of Imelda taking us off hiking, youth hostelling, sea swimming, holidays in Rush and Tiglinn. Auntie Mel used to buy me Enid Blyton books every birthday and Christmas, which I cherished. After Imelda's graduation ceremony, I returned to university and joined The Facebook. I even drink herbal caffeine free tea due to Imelda's influence! Rest in peace Auntie Mel. We love and will miss you lots xxx
