It is with great sadness that together with the many many people of Newcastle we wish to express our condolescence to all the family on Irene's passing. Irene was an integral part of this community and I have fond memories when as an active founding member of Newcastle Community Centre she would arrive on my doorstep with yet another well considered thought about how best to proceed with our challenge to build and set up a management structure for the Centre. Her phrase I well remember was " just the bones of an idea".
Irene and Michael's Stephens Day Party was yet another memorable occasion where they jointly entertained a large number of friends. Irene was always a joyful pleasant person to meet and will be sadly missed by all her friends.May she once again join up with Michael the love of her life. R.I.P.
