I will treasure so many fond & funny memories of Irene from our bridge days. Only Irene could make a bridge class hilarious not to mention her innate skill in keeping a winning card right down to the last trick.

So sad to read of your dear Irene’s passing. I don’t know if you remember me from Doonanore Park Cabinteely, but Irene and I had I first baby girls Avril and Karen on 6 th Sept 1967 in St Michaels Hospital, and became good friends and enjoyed celebrating their birthdays together. Great fun lady who helped me make my first Christmas cake!! What a super cook. We spent 22 years in London and you had moved when we returned in 1994. Often pass your old house and think of you both. Our deepest sympathy to you and your four daughters on your tremendous loss. Love and prayers Pauline and Gerry Cahill

Dear Ronnie, Dear and Lovely Avril, Jenny, Ruth, Gill and all the family, sincerest sympathy at this very sad time for you. Irene was just amazing! She was a wonderful lady, full of buzz and energy, tell it like it was and a beautiful woman. She was always so kind and caring and took time for everyone she met. Couldn't keep up with her, she was always on the go, I would be tired just watching her. And what an amazing cook! Her kitchen created magic, tastes that you didn't forget and when no one was looking you would stick your finger on the plate to get the last bits of juice or sauce she made, well I did anyway, bet others did too. Her life and love have been continued with the beautiful family that she and you, Ronnie, have, and for sure she was one proud Mother and Grandmother. I am very gutted for you all and send you our love and wishing you strength from each other and great memories of an incredible Spirit and beautiful Soul, who was a Blessing to everyone that knew her. Rest In Peace, Lovely Irene, and thank you for being a very special part of my life and for the love you gave to everyone. xo
