Since condolences to Irene's family. Irene was a joyful person that we met, as many did, through the Curragh Sub-Aqua Club. She welcomed us with joy and enthusiasm when we arrived and had many wonderful dives & week-ends together around Ireland and abroad. Helen in particular had many long fascinating dives in Egypt with Irene as neither seemed to use air, coming back long after the rest of us were back on the beach. Irene, you are sadly missed, RIP
On behalf of the staff and Board sending our deepest sympathies to Paul and family on the sudden and devastating loss of Irene. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
Sincere condolences to Irene’s family. Irene was a kind and supportive manager to me and my colleagues in the physiotherapy department in Beaumont Hospital. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to the Harrison family on the sudden passing of Irene.

I remember Irene well from her Physiotherapy days in beaumont hospital. Shd was a lady and a wonderful colleague
I have wonderful memories of diving and being on holiday with Irene. She was an important part of my journey when I started my dive career and much to my delight was still diving when I rejoined the Curragh after a 20 year absence in 2014.

She was a great dive buddy and on one memorable dive with her in Dalkey, when we came across a couple of dogfish, one swam over and sat on her hand. How cool I thought! Apres dive she could be found with a rum and coke or a rum and blackcurrant, joining in the general festivities and discussion about having spent another great day underwater. At these times she talked about her family and the various projects she had going on at her home. It was clear to everyone during these chats how deeply she loved and how proud she was of her brother, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews…..and her garden.

I am still processing what happened and take comfort in the fact, she passed doing what she loved and was with her friends. Thinking of you all and of course Irene at this difficult time. Chantal
We were so sorry to hear of Irene's passing. We had great diving holidays together. Irene was always gentle and kind and a great force for good in Irish doving.

Irish diving has lost a wonderful inspirational diver. I had the pleasure of diving with her over the years in the Curragh SAC where the dives and afterwards were always so enjoyable. Rest in peace, Irene.
My deepest sympathies to Paul, Mary, Irene's Nieces, Nephews, Friends, Neighbours and the sub- diving community of Ireland.

One of many warm tributes I read here described Irene as a person whose contribution benefitted half a century of Irish divers!

Unfortunately I only ever met Irene a few times but my late Mother (Ann Power née Bradshaw) and her family only ever spoke of her with the highest regard.

My eternal rest grant onto her and may perpetual light shine upon her. May Irene's soul and those of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, recent in peace.
Our deepest sympathies to Paul, Mary and family. May she rest in peace

On behalf of the entire club, I would like to express our shock and very deepest condolences and sorrow to Paul and the Harrison family on the passing of our club member, friend, dive buddy and all round inspiration Irene. She was an inspiration to all she met, a safe pair of hands and a key influence to diving in Ireland since the 1970s. She was instrumental to the setup of the club, the setup of the NGB CFT(Diving Ireland), the ongoing development of Instructors and gave the perfect welcome for many of the newest divers. She was very well thought of by the entire diving community in Ireland and abroad, and will be dearly missed. She leaves a big gap in all of the lives she touched.
