I was very saddened to hear of Irene's passing. A wonderful person who will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam.

Sincere sympathy to Dervilla and Lorcan. Irene is a feature of my childhood memories when she and my parents would chat in the kitchen in Scurlogstown. We remember a kind, hard working, interesting lady and I'm sure she and Joan are catching up now.

Very sad to hear of Irene's death. Sincere condolences to Dervilla and Lorcan and Irene's extended family. Irene and I go back to our first night at the Open University and we have been friends ever since. She was a wonderful person and I have very happy memories of the great times we had together. May she rest in peace.

Dear Dervilla and Lorcan.
Very sad to hear of the passing of Irene. Many fond memories of her on visits to Enfield. She was a fantastic character, sharp and witty and she was always kind to me even when I keeled over from the smell when helping out debeaking chickens ( after she stopped laughing!!) I know she’ll be greatly missed.

Dervilla and Lorcan— I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mum. I never had the honor of meeting her in person, but did enjoy chatting by phone in the past. She was quite the lady— very independent, interesting, and quick wit. You and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless!
