We watched Irene's funeral mass this morning on streamline. What a beautiful service. The priest was amazing, he covered everything. I felt I knew Irene with all the wonderful things said about her. She was surely a wonderful person. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Michael, you did Irene proud with the eulogy you gave. It was brilliant.

Teachers seemed to dislike me and I disliked them but whenever I crossed paths with Ms. Grady, I could sense her warmth and natural kindness. She always saw the potential best in people and gently offered some direction of hope. She was an amazing woman who will sadly be missed. May she rest in peace.

Irene was love and kindness and peace personified. My first memory of her is when she stayed at our house after coming to Limerick with Micheal to meet the in-laws. I remember her distinct gentle voice. We were instantly drawn to her as kids, so much so that when she left to return home, we were so upset going to bed that night that the tears started to pour and there had to be a late night phone call to her so that we could hear her voice. My own little Matty was the same when he met her at Christmas. There was forehead kisses fired her way on repeat. Absolutely stunning woman in every way. So very sorry for your enormous loss Micheal. RIP.

My Aunt Irene has always been a part of my life and her spirit now shines even brighter as she looks down upon us from heaven. I cannot recall any significant aspect of my life where she wasn’t a part of it either physically or emotionally. She was such an amazing woman and loving figure within my life and has shaped the woman I am today. I am so fortunate for the love, kindness, gratitude and positive spirit she expressed consistently throughout her life. I will carry this forward with grace. Rest in peace, Aunt Irene, and know how deeply loved you are and that we are carrying forward your beautiful legacy. Until we meet again…save a spot for me at the pinochle table.

To Michael and Solo Family, we offer our sincere condolence on the passing of beautiful gentle Irene. She was a teacher to our boys at JP2 in Sydney and a friend to all our family. We loved Irene and remember her looking after the rugby league team.

I got to meet Irene when she and Michael came to the States to visit her extended family (her cousin was my grandma). Hearing her stories of her different paths taking her across the world was fascinating to me. She mentioned that if I were to ever be in Ireland that her door would be open for me, and that was completely true when my cousin Jackie and I traveled there a couple years later.

She and Michael were the most generous hosts, offering a bed to sleep in, meals, information and tours of the area, and much more. We couldn't have had better hosts, and I'm truly grateful for those few days getting to spend time with Michael and her.

Reading some of these posts show she clearly was loved and loved others, and that brought a smile to my face.

What can I say about Irene my distant cousin, I remember meeting Irene when I was very young in Detroit, Michigan I knew she had committed her life to the Church, and at that time I didn't understand why. She started writing to me when my mother Ann Waldis (Rogowicz) passed away. We started corresponding through email, she had good memories of my mother and we shared some of those memories through email. We then felt lead to go and visit Irene and Michael in Dublin, we had such a grand time with them and visiting Michael's homeland. This lead to several other of my family members connecting with Michael and Irene through visits. Irene was a special lady that symbolized what a Christian is, loving, caring, and truly interested in building a relationship with people. I will miss her and our family tree work we did while I was in Dublin. I am blessed to have known her.
