My deepest sympathy Renate and family. I just got to know that she passed away. She was a lovely soul who brought serenity and laughs in every conversation. She will be deeply missed. May her gentle soul forever rest and she will be remembered as the brightest star in the sky.

I had the pleasure of knowing Irene through animal rescue and she was always so kind and caring with all the animals in her care, helping any dog or stray cat that she came across. Thank you Irene for all you did for our furry friends…. may you rest in peace. 🌹

Our sincerest condolences to Irene’s family. We loved talking to Irene and all her dogs over the years. She made us feel so welcome when we moved to Donnycarney and was a great neighbour. She was always so kind to our son Paddy and he’ll miss calling in to say hello to her. May she rest in peace.

My most sincere condolences to the family on the sad passing of Irene RIP. I always enjoyed a pleasant chat with Irene (and her beloved dog) on my daily walks in Maypark. A shy and most dignified individual, she always lifted my spirits by her pleasantness and genuine decency. Suaimhneas síorraí go raibh ar a h-anam uasal dílis/May her Sweet and Noble Soul rest in peace.

Irene was such a kind lovely person, at the heart of Donnycarney, particularly May Park. Was beloved by all animals including foxes & birds. She rescued several dogs now leaving behind her loyal dog Shadow.

She was selfless, private, but always played her part,
Caring for animals to her was like art,
And her example inspired many others to start.
She loved to pop out for a walk or a stroll,
But illness and age in the end took its toll
Her passing will leave in our lives a great hole,
She’ll be missed as a wonderfully generous soul."
