A very lovely lady has left us and her kindness and wisdom , combined with a twinkly glint in her eye and a cheeky sense of humour will be irreplaceable ! I have lost a dear friend who will be sorely missed ! But I will think of her often with fond memories ! To David and Conor and your families, I'm so sorry you've lost your mother and so soon after your father's passing. Iris was always so kind and welcoming to me when I spent time in Granard over the years. Iris radiated positivity and kindness and she put everyone at ease. Elegant, hard-working, good humoured and funny, she was just a complete pleasure to keep company with. Despite her illness, she kept determinedly positive and loved having her grandchildren visit her. Iris will be deeply missed. I'm so sorry for your loss.

We were both so lucky to have shared so many wonderful times together. So sorry we will not be present at the funeral due to being out of the country.
