Sending my deepest sympathy to Paul, Kamla, Thomas, Patrick & Families on the passing of Auntie Isabel. We have many happy memories of time spent with her over the years. Her generosity with the lovely meals when we would visit from Limerick. Indeed she put me up on a number of occasions when I was up for the Mayfly fishing on Lough Arrow and I was in awe of that Pressure Cooker(but very grateful) that she used to cook a lovely warm meal for me when I came in freezing off the lake.
My mother Lily and Aunt Isabel were very close as sisters and I know that there were many letters written by each to keep in contact over the years when it was difficult to visit because of distance.
She was a very creative lady loving to sew, write poetry, and indeed loved the artistic activities such as painting and mosaics that she was able to take part in both at Ballinafad and at Abbey Haven in more recent years. I saw a number of the hats that she had made one summer holiday and I thought her creativity wonderful and wished that some of it had rubbed off on me. Indeed there are a few funny stories about her creativity with sewing that are now family legends.
Her smile and bright personality will long be missed. Thinking of You Paul, Kamla, Thomas & Patrick with sincere sympathy, Sylvia (Acheson)

With our deepest condolences to the McQuade and Smyth families on the death of dear Isabel from all her friends in Boyle Branch of Mothers' Union. Isabel was a much loved member of our little Branch and rarely missed a meeting when she lived at home in Ballinafad. She was a lady of tremendous faith who also loved the friendship of the group.
When she moved to Abbeyhaven, it was an absolute joy to visit her there. She knew everyone, watched out for them and embraced the activities with enthusiasm. She took particular pride in the potted plants and loved to tell us how she looked after the watering!! When she couldn't come to join us for meetings, it was a great privilege for some of our members to be able to join Isabel and some of the other residents for the monthly Holy Communion service in the nursing home.
You, her family, will be in our thoughts and prayers as you face the difficult days ahead and we pray that your lovely memories of happy times together will bring you much comfort.

Rest in peace Isabel. Fond memories of a beautiful lady.
