Isobel O'Brien

For 40 years and 1 month, Isobel was such a good friend of mine. We travelled around the USA and Canada together, in the 80s, kept in touch during her years in the UK and mine in Canada, and fulfilled her dreams of going to Paris in 2019. Born on the same date, 4 years apart, we were so alike and yet so different in ways that not only astonished us, but really made us laugh until we could hardly breathe. She was such a ‘fashionista’! I didn’t know any of the designers that tripped off her tongue, and though many thought her quiet, she would warm up to give a broadway performance of Marilyn Monroe’s ‘ Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’! A sentence, or a word, would start us singing an appropriate ‘golden oldie’ together, again with much laughter. I also found that her spirituality and love of the Truth, despite her health limitation, so very encouraging. When I selfishly view her loss from my perspective, I realize how much more it must be for you, her family, who knew her longest, and who she really loved. We ‘scoured’ Paris to get you all presents (and you are a huge dynasty) because, generous as ever, she didn’t want to miss anyone. Just as we share the grief of her loss, we will share the joy of her promised return in Paradise. Thinking of you all.

We remember Isobel with such fondness. Sweet natured and kind and so so funny! Had a fun adventure with her in the late 80’s, driving through London in Tim’s tip up truck. Mum Marjorie in the cab and me and Isobel in the open air out back. We laughed that we were like royalty - only not in a limo! Now sleeping peacefully and will wake in joy in Jehovahs due time.

Isobel was such a beautiful warm hearted Lady. She had a wonderful sense of humour
and was great company.
her love for others was always shown.
Isobel's faith in Jehovah and his promise was so sure.

Dear Isobel, you will always be my BFF! The kindest of hearts, always so caring for others. The best sense of humour. I will miss you so much, all the happy memories and fun we had. Sleep now my big sister til we meet again.

I'd like to express my sincere condolences to Isobel's family. I first met Isobel in 2006 and I always admired her fashion sense...a great sense of style. Such a warm and lovely person with a great sense of humor. I will really miss her. I know you all are devastated and heartbroken and I'm so sorry.
