As an old friend of Ita’s late brother Paid, I would like to extend my sympathy to all Ita’s family. May she rest peacefully and gently after such a long illness. It was only today I learned of her passing. So sorry I have not been in touch before now .

I was lucky to work with your mam in Ballyfermot MHC, Ita was always on the go, teaching & guiding everyone & how lucky so many were to have met Ita. So wise & caring, minding all, a real mother hen. Always talking about her girls, your dad & family. May Ita rest in peace.

Condolences to Catherine, to Alice, and Una on the passing of your mother. I bumped into Ita once on the Dublin Bus. At first I had no idea who I was talking to. Both being friendly to a stranger on the bus we got talking about the Irish language, prompted by announcements as Gaeilge, no doubt. From there, we shared our stories. The penny eventually dropped for me. I got the opportunity to tell your mother how I had met Catherine in Ranelagh, how I had once visited your house back in '89, and of many memories. I reminded Ita how kind she had always been to us. May she rest in peace.
