Just heard of Ivan’s passing - my sincere condolences to Rachel, Edith, Clare and all his loved ones. I worked with Ivan in Irish Car Rentals in Limerick & Dublin and we both moved onto Carroll & Kinsella Motors. I remember Rachel was pregnant with Edith & I was pregnant with my eldest son - Ivan used to look out for me whenever he was heading over to the shop to grab lunch he’d always be sure to check on me to ensure there was nothing I needed. Ivan lit up the room as soon as he walked in he was always smiling and always knew how to bring the humor. Ivan, my friend you will be missed. Rest in Peace

Rachel, and family. It’s with such incredible sadness that we write this message I’ll never forget the first time I set eyes on Ivan, in the sitting room in Clontarf. He had a big smile, a firm handshake and a bit of mischief in his eyes. I knew we would be friends immediately. We remember the long chats with you both, the late nights, the watching tv together in the little sitting room. I remember one night, we were standing outside the house, staring at Dollymount strand, and imagining the Vikings coming across the water. This was about 2 am, and we had a few drinks taken. Most of all, we remember a kind, entertaining man, full of life, and full of love for you , Rachel. We can’t believe he is gone, and we send our love and condolences to you, to the girls, and to Ivan’s family.

So sorry to hear of Ivan’s passing. Great memories of Ivan working with him in Shannon!

Ivan, there’s no words to express how much we will miss you. 28 years ago we rented a room in Galway and bought a lifetime of laughs and memories that I will cherish forever. I’ll miss putting on bets under pressure when you only text me five seconds before the race starts or twenty double bets on golf for you when you couldn’t make it to Killybegs. All of these things kept us in constant contact even though you were far away in Carrick. Even when you couldn’t get out of bed you found a way to be active, positive, and full of life. That’s what we all will miss, your “can do” mentality in everything you attempted. To Rachel, Clare, Edith and the wider Tucker and Ward families, it was an honour to share our memories of Ivan with you. He would have been very proud of the way his memory was recalled by everyone. There’s no more pain Ivan, look down on us, and thanks for bringing the Sun.

Rachel, with a very heavy heart i am saddened to be writing this condolence note to you and your girls. Ivan was a beautiful man, a funny man who loved the craic. We all met through Arnotts and although haven't seen eachother in many years I hold great memories of the special day, we got to share with you an Ivan when you got married in Carrick many years ago now.
