Paula and family, very sad to hear of Kevin's death. He was an invaluable contributor to the APC and AH story and I have many happy memories of meetings at home and abroad where we represented APC and /or AH - great insights and wonderful company.
He will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear that Kevin had passed away.

May he rest in peace.

I am saddened to hear of Kevin’s passing and wish to extend sincere sympathy to Paula, Clodagh, Roisin and Orla and extended families at this time of loss. I was a collaborator with Kevin and other international research partners in an EU-funded research project back in the 80’s/90’s. Kevin’s research at the time was innovative and he really commanded the attention and respect of the other project partners at the periodic review meetings. I enjoyed Kevin’s company - his charm and quick wit made for pleasant social engagement on the fringes of these meetings

So sad and sorry that Kevin has left our world. We were chatting last night when I learned that Kevin has passed away. He was a great guy to bump into in Courtmacsherry, always a gentleman with a very humerous personality. Sincere sympathy to Paula and the Collins family.

Kevin was a standout individual in so many ways. As with many of the greats, Kevin was down to earth, charming witty and engaging. Impeccably dressed with a wink and a nod no matter how busy, he knew how to make everyone welcome and an equal. He filled new staff with encouragement and took a keen interest in their progress. He was selfless to a fault but still achieved so much. My condolences to the Collins family. He will be greatly missed but has left a wonderful legacy through work and in life.

We were very sorry to learn of the passing of Kevin. Condolences to all his family. Kevin was our lecturer in microbiology in the early 80s. He had a curious and inspiring spirit- always willing to try something different. He loved social events and chatting with his students. May he rest in peace.

I had the privilege of having both Oliver and Kevin Collins as educators in the 1970s and early 1980s. Oliver as a science teacher in Colaiste An Spioraid Naoimh and Kevin in the Virology Unit, Microbiology Department, UCC, where I studied enteroviruses alongside a great team of pioneering, enthusiastic, dedicated and fun loving colleagues. Kevin was my teacher, research supervisor and employer He introduced me to the practical and social sides of scientific research and gave me a great foundation as I set out on my own journey in life. Great experiences & memories in UCC. Thank you Kevin and family.

I was sorry and saddened to learn of the passing of Kevin. My sincere sympathies to Paula, Clodagh, Róisín, Orla, Oliver and all of the extended Collins family. I have known him since the early 1970s when we were undergraduates and graduates together in Microbiology classes and laboratory in old Dairy Science building. Over the years since then we met at various conferences and symposia and related events, at which it was great to have discussions with him. He was an outstanding academic researcher and lecturer.
