Jacinta (Jess) Fitzsimons

Jess was the most delightful neighbor here in Briar Grove, and she loved her Irish home! She will be dearly missed.

To Simon, Alice, Joseph, Lucia and the extended Fitzsimons family. It is with sadness that we learned of Jacinta’s passing. Although her suffering has come to an end there will be a gap left in the family that will live on. May her soul rest in peace.

Jess was a rare treat of life. Full of energy, determination, and goodness. Loved her from the minute I met her as part of the CCI committee. It was a true pleasure to have known her. God rest her soul and may God bring peace to the family and all of friends who mourn her.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Jess’s passing. Jess was an extra ordinary woman, full of strength, grace & unshakable love for life. She brought light, laughter & warmth into every room she entered. She was a true free spirit, funny, witty & full of life. Her love for her Irish roots, her joy in gathering with friends & her deep devotion to her son Simon & her family made her very special. Jess’s spirit touched every fortunate enough who knew her. Jacinta for years, we remember her as the youngest of the family, who was very friendly, good-humoured, and fun-loving, always

Jess is a powerful spirit who positively impacted everyone she met. Jess had this uncanny ability to bring people together. When she walked into a room within the next 30 minutes everyone was fast friends. When I heard the news a flood of memories came rushing through. The laughter, the adventures, the tears, the friendship. Lady, you will be missed but will always remain in my heart. Your friendship changed my life in such a profound and positive way. I have never met anybody so strong and determined. Jess was an incredible inspiration. She fought so hard while living every second to its fullest. It was an honor to know her. I loved her spicy demeanor and her carefree way about her. Her passion for the profession was incredible. The impact that she has made will be felt endlessly.

I remember back in 2008 when i first stepped into Ecardio back at the 1960 building i was interviewed by Raina and Jess herself. I was nervous to take the interview but Jess gave me a shot and i enjoyed working under her cause she didnt take no crap. Very Blunt as always and when i passed the EKG test with Alexandria Carol and i dont remember who else, Jess told me i made a 95 and nervously but greatful i shook her hand and man I was glad to be on the EKG side. Now im at the hospital reaching 10 years. In life you only need one opportunity and it comes from someone who believes in you. That person was Jess. Thank you so much for the opportunity and you will be missed. Condolences to her family and everyone who looked up to her. R.I.P ❤️

I just read the announcement of Jess’ passing posted by CCI. So sad. Absolutely brought a tear to my eye. Jess was a wonderful person and friend. Such a kind soul. We worked together for years.
We had lots of laughs together. Irish to her core!

I was lucky enough to have Jess come into to my life through her volunteer work. Such a bright, joyful, mischievous, strong, brilliant light of a human being.

She gave me a small book once entitled, "Empowering Mantras for Awesome Women." Imagine my surprise that each mantra was not crafted by her. One in particular strikes me as appropriate right now, in memory of Jess, by Emily Dickinson, "We never know how high we are, till we are called to rise; And then, if we are true to plan, our statures touch the sky." I think she reached so high that she must now be touching the face of God.
