Comhbhrón leis an gclann ar fad ar bhás Jackie. Fear álainn. Memories of time spent in Carna convent in the late 60s and realising Jackie and Joe our neighbours from Moylough were living and working in the village. Jackie and Joe gave us many lifts home for the holidays and were also generous in bringing us goodies from home. We loved to see them coming. Thorough gentlemen highly regarded by everybody. Thinking of all the Dowd family and Jackie's friends and neighbours in the lovely Carna and Moylough. May Jackie rest in peace. Ann Mcnulty (Mannion).

We met Jack during a trip we made to Ireland in the spring of 2018 when we stopped for fuel at his service station. He was the most amiable and kind man, with a twinkle in his eye and a gift to “chat”. We connected immediately with him as if we had known him for most of our lives. As the years passed we always looked forward to that Christmas card from Jack Dowd from Carna, Co. Galway!
