I have know Jack all my golfing life, and remember fondly all his early guidence on my golf and career. He was a leader in so many areas of developing golf in Roscommon and beyond. Jack mapped courses for distance long before laser measuring devices, and his skill at club making and restoring old clubs like my beloved 4 wood will not be seen again.
Jack will be whisteling his way along the fairways of Heaven with all those he touched in a long and full life. May he RIP 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️

May he rest in eternal peace.I first met Jack and June when I became a member of Roscommon GC and his devotion and care of every aspect of the club was admirable. His kindness to everybody was notable and he was always ready to help in any way that he could.
Jack will be sorely missed by all of us who were lucky to know him.
May June and his family be comforted by your shared memories of times gone past and consoled by the many years he shared with you all.

It's rare that a bright, intelligent, widely-experienced and talented man will patiently take the time to pass on his guidance. Jack did it any time I asked. My brother Marty Connor( R.i.p) always spoke so highly of Jack when he worked for him in Casey's Engineering Works many years ago. Jack was a wonderful role model as he had such a great work ethic and was such a lovely kind gentleman. May he now be rewarded for his kindness and goodness. May Jack's gentle soul rest in peace.

Jack had many talents and was selfless in having others benefit from them.
I was lucky to have had a great chat with him when I last visited Roscommon Golf Club -- was he the proud man of his score and handicap (at his age).
I still have one or two of Jack's clubs Bentley and Dynacraft and some of my Dad's very old clubs that Jack repaired or should I say restored.

My sincere sympathy to June, Karen, Grant, Gary and all the family on Jack's passing. He was a man blessed with so many gifts and he so willingly shared them with all and sundry. In Roscommon Golf Club he was the go to man for club repairs and club making; I still have one of his "Bently" 1-irons! He must have mended clubs for every member over the years. And what a singer...whenever I hear "The Holy City (Jerusalem)" I think of Jack; but nobody can sing it as well as he could.
