Having shared a couple of hours with him last July officiating at a Cove Sailing Club league race when he was in such goods spirits, it is hard to believe that illness would have taken his life in such a short time. Jack and I shared many the conversations and enjoyed immensely, what we thought were the better things in life such as Irish music, open water swimming and solving all the problems of the world over a pint in the Donkey on Wednesday nights. Deeply saddened by this news. Jack and I sailed together on L.E. Eithne and I have happy memories of our time together. Memories also of sailing with the Naval Service Yacht Squadron and working on our boats during the winter months. Jack was a trusted shipmate and a knowledgeable Marine Engineer.
