Jack was a lovely man and always so nice to me when i was welcomed into his home.
And lovely memories of jack in banagher vocational school. He would always give me those black jack sweets for helping to clear all the cups of tea after lunch time.

My sincere sympathy to Annie and all the Kenny family on the very sad news of Jack’s passing. I got to know Jack during my time teaching in Banagher VS in the early 90’s. He was a very kind and caring person and looked after everyone so well. May he RIP.

I was very much saddened by the news of Jack's demise, far too late for my attendance at his funeral. Both Jack and Annie have been my good friends for over 50 years since our time in Everfresh factory. Jack was a great raconteur, and when we worked through late night's back then he would regale us with colourful stories. I recall in particular one about when inebriated one night he decided to walk home backwards from Corrigan's Pub to Curraghvarna - since then I have incorporated that story into something [not yet published] I've written myself! Back then we would cycle together across Banagher bridge and into East Galway to connect with our girlfriends, Jack in Eyrecourt, and I in Laurencetown. Another fond memory was when Jack (and Michael Hough) attended an elabourate Engagement party of mine in Ballinasloe (to Kitty Farrell) when I blew an eliment of my inheritance. Jack was also a very solid St Rynagh's hurling enthusiast who's career was cut short by injury. Like myself he was a great fan of his Curraghvarna neighbour Gerry 'Speedy' Burke. He was also a great Irish Traditional singer, somewhat in the style of the Dubliners, I think his favourite song then was "The Nightengale". These are some of my memories of a great old friend, with time we drifted apart,and I'm saddened now for that. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis
