My deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Jack Roberts. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but his work on stone circles and sheela-na-gigs has had a big influence on my life. I first found his map of the sheela-na-gigs of Ireland back in 2013 while here on our honeymoon, which turned our honeymoon trip into a three-week-long sheela hunt! Thanks to him, I am passionate about not only the sheelas but also the stone circles of Ireland. (I'm American, with Irish ancestors.) He was a giant of a man - his work will live on as his legacy.
I'm so sad to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace.
