I got to know Jack when I worked in the Alumni Office in St Andrew’s. We had many a chat when he attended the Annual Clyde Road Past Pupils Lunch. Such a wonderful character and always immaculately dressed and a very definite twinkle in his eye!! My sincere sympathies to all of Jack’s family.
Very sorry to hear of Jack's passing and condolences to his entire family. I remember my first experiences of sailing with Jack in Gay Gannet, his beautiful Sterling 28. It was a windy crossing from Isle of Man to Howth. I was probably about 10 years old, but he encouraged me to take my spell on the helm just like the rest of the crew, steering the compass course as accurately as I could. The longest two hours of my life! But felt great when I went off watch to my bunk. A true gentleman and teacher, always fun to be around.
My sincerest sympathy to all the Wolfe family on the death of your lovely dad and grandfather. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I first met Jack in 1971, when we bought "Wishbone" She was laid up in his back yard at Robb's Wall, Malahide. Jack and my father became close friends, which they remained until his untimely death in 1977. Ever since then, whenever we met Jack, there was always the same warm and friendly greeting. I knew Jack through the Irish Cruising Club and over many visits to Howth by land and by sea. He was the same pleasant, jovial and welcoming person on every occasion and over so many years.
In one of the ICC Annuals, where Jack, Keith Hunt and myself were pictured crossing on a boat from Baltimore to Sherkin Island, it was noted that the cumulative age of membership was unlikely ever to be exceeded.
Rest in peace.
